KEYSER, W.Va. — Frankfort’s Katie Jan and Trae Miller won the individual Potomac Valley Conference individual championship for a third consecutive year and both helped the Falcons to easily sweep the team title Tuesday afternoon at Keyser High School.
Miller lead three Falcons to finish in the top four spots as the boys finished with 29 points. Berkeley Springs was second with 56, host Keyser was third at 57, Tucker County took fourth (92) and Paw Paw took fifth with 135.
Jan also led three Falcons in the top four spots as the girls won 24-50 over Tucker County and Berkeley Springs. Keyser ran but had an incomplete team.
Frankfort’s Miller, Lucas Young and Shane Ickes finished first, second and fourth. Miller’s time was 17:06. Young crossed in 17:41 and Ickes in 18:00. Berkeley Springs’ Corey Shetler took third in 17:48. Teammate Zac Simmons was fifth in 18:14.
Keyser’s Jordan Lawrence (18:18) and Craig Westfall (18:36) finished sixth and seventh. Thad Osborne was eighth for Berkeley Springs (18:42). Tucker County’s Walker Blosser was the Mountain Lions’ top finisher in ninth (18:49) and the Falcons’ Devon Alt was 10th (19:00).
The top ten for both boys and girls were named to the All-PVC team.
Jan, Julianna Butcher and Cassidy White finished first, third and fourth. Jan broke the tape in 19:39 while Butcher finished in 21:59 and White 22:03. Tucker County’s Ashley Cassidy was second in 21:06.
Three seconds separated Berkeley Springs’ Kinsey Reed and Danielle Hayes between fifth and sixth. Reed crossed in 22:08 and Hayes in 22:11. The Falcons’ Faith Sentelle finished in seventh place with a time of 22:33 and teammate Ashley Noah was ninth in 22:57. Tucker’s Madison Mullenax took eighth in 22:54 and Taylor Ambrose was 10th (23:05).
Ruth Roatch placed 13th to lead Keyser.
