Kesecker named PSC’s lacrosse coach

KEYSER, W.Va. — Katelyn Kesecker has been named head coach of the first women’s lacrosse team in Potomac State history. The Catamounts recently added the sport for the first time in school history, and will begin play in the spring of 2015.

Kesecker’s playing career is stacked with over 10 years of experience. At Arundel High School in Gambrills, Md.,  she was a dominant attacker, lettered in lacrosse and swimming, and graduated as a member of the National Honor Society. She went on to attend Frostburg State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science after just three years, graduating as a junior. As a starter on the FSU lacrosse team, Kesecker transitioned as a midfielder and draw specialist, finishing all three seasons as one of the team’s top scorers.

Kesecker is currently completing her master’s degree in exercise science as an online student for California University of Pennsylvania, set to graduate in the spring of 2015. She is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a certified speed specialist through the National Association of Speed and Explosion.

Prior to Potomac State, Kesecker coached a youth swim team with a roster of 100 competing in the Central Maryland Swim League. She successfully led the team to a winning season all four years at the program.
