Frostburg hosting ECAC lacrosse tournament

FROSTBURG — Frostburg State was named the top seed and will host the semifinal round and championship match of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Mid-Atlantic Lacrosse Tournament.

The Bobcats (13-5) boast the best record of the six-team field. Frostburg, the tournament runner-up a year ago, has a first-round bye and will host the winner of the first-round game between No. 5 Lebanon Valley (7-7) and No. 4 Stocton (12-6) on Saturday in a noon semifinal. Albright (11-6), the defending Mid-Atlantic champion, is the No. 2 seed. The tournament schedule is listed in today’s Scoreboard page.

FSU is 42nd in the nation in scoring offense (12.17) and 30th in scoring defense (7.06) and scoring margin (5.11).

Behind senior faceoff specialist Billy Lark, recenty named first team All-Capital Athletic Conference, Frostburg is 13th in face-off winning percentage (.641) and 17th in ground balls per game (39.00).

The Bobcats are 7-1 this year at Bobcat Stadium, with one of the wins the program’s first CAC Tournament win. In the eight home games, FSU has outscored its opponents by a 123-51 margin.
