CRESAPTOWN — Savannah Reed and Karly Hipsley combined to score 35 points to lead Calvary Christian Academy to a 42-31 victory over Hope for Hyndman in Cresaptown Monday evening.
Hipsley had a double-double with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. She made five baskets, was perfect on eight attempts at the free-throw line and had three steals. Reed finished with 17 points, nailing eight baskets and making one of two free throws. She also had six steals and five assists. Kerenne Shaffer dominated the boards, pulling down 19 rebounds while scoring four points.
Kadi Cosgrove led Hyndman with 12 points. Jalissa Snyder had eight, Karly Willison six and Kyndra Dawson five.
The Eagles jumped out to a 14-4 lead after the first quarter and held the 10-point lead at halftime, 20-10, before taking control with a 14-6 third quarter.
“We played good defense,” said Calvary head coach Rusty Kitzmiller.
Calvary (12-6) visits Union in a makeup game on Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. Hyndman (7-9) hosts Paw Paw tonight beginning at 7:30 p.m.
