HAGERSTOWN — Eric Schanzenbacher and Garrett Sprankle had half of Hagerstown’s eight hits while Kevin Bair pitched a complete-game shutout to lead the Hawks over Allegany 6-0 on Thursday at HCC.
Schanzenbacher and Sprankle each had two hits with Schanzenbacher belting a double and driving in two runs and Sprankle had one RBI. Dylan Dunn had a two-run double.
Bair struck out six, allowed seven hits and gave up five walks in getting the nine-inning victory.
Reynaldo Adames had two hits and Cody Malone doubled to lead the Trojans.
Ryan Redinger took the loss, striking out nine with four walks. Of the four runs Hagerstown scored while he was on the mound, only one was earned. Garrett Dickel relieved in the fifth and Dave Rinehart entered in the eighth.
Hagerstown (27-23, 11-11 Maryland JUCO Division I) scored single runs the first and fifth innings, and posted two-run innings in the fourth and seventh.
Allegany (19-21, 10-13 Maryland JUCO Division II) visits Harford on Saturday for a noon doubleheader.
