Lakeview blasts way to semifinals

— GRANTSVILLE — Lakeview Auto Parts launched three home runs in an 11-3 rout of Grantsville S.A.L. to sweep their best-of-three Hot Stove League playoff series Wednesday at Grantsville Park Wednesday.

Logan Yommer hit a three-run homer in the first inning, Brooks Carr followed with a two-run homer in the second and Hunter Hill added a solo homer in the third.

Tyler McClintock smacked a double and two singles and knocked in two runs and Clark Morin drove in two runs with a double.

Hill and Yommer combined to allow three runs on five hits while striking out 15.

Hunter Mallow hit a two-run double and Noah Werner doubled and singled for Grantsville S.A.L.

Lakeview Auto Parts (19-1) plays KMK/Outdoor Power in the semifinal round Monday evening at the Hot Stove Complex.

FROSTBURG — KMK Insurance/Outdoor Power used a five-run fourth on its way to a decisive victory over Frostburg 1st United and a two-game sweep of its first-round playoff series at Mountain Ridge.

Blake Milburn worked all five innings to gain the win for KMK/Outdoor Power, giving up five hits and striking out nine. At the plate he had three singles.

Logan Milburn had two triples and a single for KMK/Outdoor Power. Tyler Eirich tripled and singled, while Cam Bohrer singled twice and Ryan Miller doubled.

Lucas Lowery and Drew Shimko had two singles for Frostburg 1st United.

OAKLAND — Michael Livingston’s second-inning grand slam propelled Frostburg Legion over Team One Auto Mall at Broadford Park.

Livingston also doubled and singled to lead the Legion attack.

Winning pitcher Brett Ishler, who doubled and singled, threw a complete game five-hitter with three walks and three strikeouts. Elijah Long added two singles for the Legion.

Shawn Markwood’s double was the lone extra base hit for Team One Auto Mall.

The deciding game of the three-game series will be played Friday at Mountain Ridge High School at 5:30 p.m.

POTOMAC PARK — Brad Younker hit a two-run double and Caleb Wharton threw six solid innings to spark Greg’s Auto Body past Thomas Chevrolet at Memorial Field.

Game 2 of the best-of-three playoff series is today, at Memorial Field, at 8 p.m.

Greg’s Auto Body erased an early 1-0 deficit with a five-run third inning, highlighted by Younker’s RBI double and an RBI single by Nathan Robinette.

Wharton and Brady Norris also doubled for Greg’s, which had six hits. Wharton allowed three hits and struck out six in six innings for the win.

Hickey hit a two-run single for Thomas Chevrolet.
