Snoberger first overall; Sober shatters record at Lisa Wade 5K

WESTERNPORT —Woody Snoberger won the men’s title, Nicole Farr was the women’s winner and Jen Sober set a women’s masters course record in the Lisa Wade 5K on Saturday.

Snoberger, 28, won the men’s division and was first overall with a time of 16:23.2. Nathan Whitacre was runner-up in 16:42.9 and Shane Ickes was third in 16:53.9. John Piggott was fourth, and the men’s master’s champion, in 17:09.

Farr was the women’s champion and also 10th overall in 18:51.1. Heather Parks was second among the women in 19:17.3.

Sober won the women’s masters, ages 40 and over, and was 13th overall, with a women’s masters record time of 19:19.3. She won a $350 bonus, from Bob and Sue Broadwater, for breaking the course record.

 

Sweene gets hole-in-one at Fore Sisters

RAWLINGS — Skip Sweene scored a hole-in-one Thursday at the Fore Sisters Golf Club, acing the 175-yard, No. 18 with a nine-wood.

It was his third career hole-in-one and was witnessed by playing partners Grant Custer, Greg Miller and Mike Mathews.
