Casselman sweeps on a pair of comebacks

— SALISBURY, Pa. — Casselman Valley used rallies in both halves of a doubleheader Monday in Salisbury to sweep Hite Roofing, 10-5 and 6-5, and improve to 8-2-1.

Casselman trailed 5-0 in the opener before using a six-run fifth inning to pull ahead and win by five runs. It entered the bottom of the seventh inning of the late game tied at eight and got a walk off single from Ryan Brown to wrap up the pair of wins.

Lance Leydig sparked the six-run inning the first go-around by hitting a two-run home run. Alex Beiler added a double, a single and one RBI and Tyler Mayhew drove in a run of his own with a double and a single.

J.T. Wilson hit two doubles and Wade McGee hit an RBI single for Hite Roofing.

Brown added a double to his walk-off single in the 6-5 showdown, while catcher Justin Donaldson hit two doubles and a single. He doubled to lead off the seventh and scored on Brown’s single.

Brady Hillegas and McGee had two singles each in the loss.

Casselman plays Moose at Memorial Field on Monday at 8 p.m. Hite plays Barrelville ODC on Monday.
