Grantsville loses at Bridgeport

— BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — Greg Smith hit three singles and knocked in two runs, and Bridgeport blew open a close game with a seven-run sixth inning in a 13-3 victory over Grantsville Post 214 in American Legion baseball Monday night.

Henry Haddox doubled and singled and Steve Aloi added a two-run single for Bridgeport.

Brooks Carr doubled and singled, Brett Oates singled twice, Ryan Gallucci had a two-run single and Aaron Broadwater knocked in one run with a single for Grantsville.

Bridgeport led 6-3 before scoring seven unearned runs in the sixth inning.

Grantsville (5-16) will host Fort Cumberland in a doubleheader on Thursday at 5:30 at Garrett College.
