Team One wins 8-4

— OAKLAND — Colton Houser had four hits and four RBIs, including a three-run double in a five-run second inning as Grantsville SAL beat Team One Auto Mall 8-4 in Hot Stove League baseball Friday night at Broadford Park.

Houser hit a triple, double and two singles to lead a 10-hit Grantsville attack. Ben Beeman stroked two singles and Ryan Weimer had a single and an RBI.

Justin Peck had a double, single and an RBI, Brandon Cline a single and two RBIs and Joe Custer a single and an RBI for Team One.

Grantsville SAL (18-5) will complete a suspended game with Twigg’s Plumbing & Heating today at Hamilton Field at 5:30. Grantsville leads 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning.

Lakeview 10, Optimist 0

ACCIDENT — Bryce Jones doubled, singled and knocked in four runs and Logan Yommer tossed a five-inning two-hitter as Lakeview Auto Parts beat the Cumberland Optimist 10-0 on Friday for a 20-win season.

Lakeview (20-4) won the American League West championship and will advance to the league playoffs which begin next week.

Clark Morin doubled, singled and knocked in a run while Peyton Carr had a double and an RBI and Calyb King a single and an RBI for the winners.

Yommer struck out eight in five innings for the win.

R. Haines had singled twice to account for the Optimist’s hits.

Taylor Mining    7

Frostburg Legion    3

FROSTBURG — Matthew Mills and Ryan Wilson hit RBI doubles during a six-run second inning that carried Taylor Mining to victory in its season finale at Glendening Field.

Devin Smith, Wes Miller and Seth Jones had RBI singles in the big second inning, which gave Taylor Mining a quick 6-0 lead.

Hunter Harris had two singles for Frostburg Legion.

Andrew Brantner, Corey Shockey and Devin Smith combined on a four-hitter for Taylor Mining, which finished the season 13-10.


Lakeview 12, Moose 0

KEYSER, W.Va. — Bryce Jones smacked a triple, double and single and teamed with Brady Fratz on a four-inning no-hitter to lead Lakeview Auto Parts past Keyser Moose at John Kruk Field.

Logan Yommer and Calyb King hit three singles, Peyton Carr and Clark Morin doubled and singled, Fratz and Eli Reed singled twice and Eli Eggleston a single and two RBIs. Carr and Yommer also had two RBIs for Lakeview, which had 18 hits in a game shortened by the time limit.

Jones pitched the first two innings and had five strikeouts. Fratz fanned three over the final two innings.

Salisbury 9, First United 1

SALISBURY, Pa. — Hunter Wilt hit a homered, singled and scored two runs and winning pitcher Ross Mazer hit a pair of singles and scored three times as Salisbury ended its regular season by beating Frostburg 1st United.

Wilt’s homer was a solo shot in the third inning and helped the Legion build an early 5-1 lead. Sam Justice ripped a pair of doubles and knocked in three runs, and Kirk Eberly tripled for Salisbury Legion (9-14).

Mazer scattered five hits and struck out nine in a complete game win.

Drake Miller and Perry Conner hit two singles for Frostburg 1st United. Blair Muriak struck out five in four innings and Drake Miller fanned six over the final three.
