Cork’s Cars powers past Riverside

— POTOMAC PARK — Broc Lohr tossed a four-hitter, struck out seven and aided his cause by getting a pair of hits himself to lead Cork’s Cars to a 7-3 win over Riverside Sports in Hot Stove League baseball Thursday evening.

Cork’s Cars (1-1) broke open a 2-0 game with a four-run third inning.

Payton Kennedy, Ethan Bittinger and Bryson Bittinger all singled and knocked in run. Austin Graham had two RBIs, and Kennedy scored two runs.

Hunter Wilhelm hit an RBI triple for Riverside (0-1).

Cork’s Cars plays Chestnut Ridge on Saturday at 10 a.m. at hte Hot Stove Complex.

ACCIDENT — Lakeview Auto Parks scored five runs in the first and six in the second on its way to a five-inning victory over the Cumberland Optimist at Northern High School.

Aaron Rodeheaver had two singles for Lakeview, while Clark Morin and Caleb King had a single and a double.

Darren Roddy doubled in both runs for the Optimist.

Lakeview (2-0) will play the Fort Ashby Lions Saturday, 3 p.m., at Hamilton Field.

On Monday night, Lakeview beat Greg’s Auto Body, 8-0, in the first game at Memorial Field at the Hot Stove Complex in Potomac Park.

Rodeheaver had three singles and a double for Lakeview. Hunter Hill had a single and a double and Morin tripled. Hill pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out 13.
