Morin’s 2 goals lead BW’s 4-0 victory

— CUMBERLAND — Bishop Walsh got two goals from Julia Morin to kick off Homecoming weekend in style with a 4-0 win over Hancock Friday evening on Haystack Mountain.

Morin notched an unassisted goal at 2:28 in the first half and Bishop Walsh extended the lead to 2-0 when Katherine Dwyer assisted Rachel O’Rourke.

Dwyer was responsible for the final goal of the first half with Kait Miller assisting her.

The Spartans added a pair of unassisted goals in the second half when Morin got her second goal and Maggie Mathews added the final score with 1:53 to go.

The Spartans destroyed the Panthers in shots taken with a 25-3 advantage. They led 3-2 in corner kicks.

Brittany Coffman got Bishop Walsh its third shutout of the season, stoping two shots in the process, while Hancock used three goalies to get 14 saves.

Bishop Walsh (6-10-1) gets Northern at home on Tuesday.
