QUAKERTOWN, Pa. — Shippensburg University softball’s Hilary Lyons, a former softball standout at Allegany High School, was named the PSAC Champion Scholar award recipient for the 2013 PSAC Softball Championships on Wednesday afternoon.

Lyons, a junior, is a repeat winner of the award and remains the only Raider in any sport to receive the honor. She is an accounting major with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average through 76 completed credits.

In her third season, Lyons has been a regular starter in left field. In 38 games (35 starts), she has posted a .282 batting average along with 10 RBIs, 10 stolen bases and 18 runs scored. She has  committed only one fielding error.
