POTOMAC PARK — Brooks Carr needed only 11 pitches to strike out the side in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure Lakeview Auto Parts’ 10-8 victory and sweep of Team One Auto Mall in Hot Stove Baseball’s National League Championship Series Wednesday at Holler Field.
Lakeview improved to 23-1 and will open the best-of-three championship series on Monday when it faces Bedford Thomas Chevrolet at the Hot Stove Complex. Lakeview won Game 1 of the NLCS 12-2 on Monday.
Lakeview worked its way to a 10-2 lead after the top of the sixth, but Team One put together a six-run inning to climb right back into contention. Leading by only two runs, Carr entered and made quick work of Team One in the seventh to earn a save.
Carr also shined at the plate, coming through with a triple, a single and two runs batted in. Cather Aaron Rodeheaver hit a triple and three singles with two RBIs and Logan Yommer added two RBIs on two singles.
