York thumps Frostburg

YORK, Pa. — Brittany Hicks had 20 points and 16 rebounds, Kailee Knight 14 points and 11 rebounds and Aja Wallpher dished out a whopping 17 assists and had seven steals as York powered its way past Frostburg State, 83-44, in the regular-season finale for both teams Saturday in college women’s basketball.

York (19-6, 8-4 Capital Athletic Conference) led by only seven, 26-19, with 4:30 to go in the first half but closed the half with a 18-4 run for a commanding 44-23 lead at the break.

Brynn Arnone led Frostburg (6-19, 3-9) with 14 points. Ronje James had nine points, seven rebounds and three steals.

York out-rebounded FSU 52-34 and had 15 steals and nine blocked shots.

Frostburg State will play at York again on Tuesday in the first round of the CAC Tournament.
