WESTMINSTER — The scoring tandem of senior Ryan Serio and junior Devin Colegrove connected for the game’s final two goals to lift the Frostburg State men’s lacrosse team to a close 14-12 win over McDaniel, Wednesday.
The contest featured eight leads changes and seven ties but Frostburg (6-2) came away with the victory thanks to Serio’s and Colegrove’s team work.
FSU headed into the fourth quarter down 11-10 and Colegrove found the net with 12:06 to play to knot the score at 11 off an assist from Serio. Junior Chris Rios only scored one goal in the game, but it couldn’t have come at a better time as an unassisted tally at 9:45 gave the Bobcats a 12-11 lead.
Just over two minutes later, McDaniel’s Timothy McNichol scored for the second time to tie the game at 12-12. However, Frostburg had the final say in the outcome as Colegrove fed Serio for the game’s final two goals and the 14-12 win.
