Mongold marches PSC to 3-0 win
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — Morgan Mongold recorded a double-double with 23 digs and 11 kills to lift Potomac State to its third win to open the season by sweeping Penn Highlands Tuesday in Johnstown, Pa.
The Catamounts had little trouble moving to 3-0, winning the first and third games 25-13, and taking game two 25-17. PSC will play in the College of Southern Maryland in La Platta over the weekend, facing Wake Tech and Lenoir, both of North Carolina, on Friday.
Mongold added eight points and three aces to her kills and digs, and Alyssia Whitacre added 21 digs. Katelyn Smith had a team-high 24 assists, eight digs, four aces and one point, and Julia Morikawa added 16 points and our aces. Kaitlyn Semler pitched in with seven kills. Mikayla Osbourn and Stephanie Cornachia had four kills each, and Amie Conley had three.
