Fort Hill, Hampshire, Mountain Ridge sweep

CUMBERLAND — Haley Wolfe served for 15 points and had 21 assists, five digs and two kills to lead Fort Hill to a 25-11, 25-15, 25-22 sweep of Allegany in City League high school volleyball action Thursday night at Fort Hill.

Sarah Lowery added eight kills and 12 points, Danielle Hershiser had six kills and two blocks, Troie York seven kills, five digs and seven points, and Sierra Minnick 14 digs for the Sentinels.

Fort Hill won the junior varsity match, 25-20 and 25-18. Lexi Dolly had 14 points, seven aces and 10 assists for Fort Hill, Lakiah Powell six kills, Bailey Godlove four kills and Skylar Barbe had three kills and eight points.

Fort Hill (3-0) will host the Sentinel Invitational Saturday at Fort Hill beginning at 9 a.m. There are 12 teams in the event. Allegany (1-2) will host Mountain Ridge Monday.

Hampshire 3, Southern 0

ROMNEY, W.Va. — Hampshire swept Southern 25-19, 25-17 and 25-23.

Katie Lafollette had 11 points and 28 assists for Hampshire, while Kali Davis had 12 points, four aces and nine kills. Erica Gordon had nine points, three aces, nine kills and two blocks. Catherine Largent had seven kills and Kori Crawford five points and five kills.

For Southern, Rachel Warnick had 12 points and three kills, Katie Bowman 12 points and one ace, Becca Lee seven points, seven assists and five digs, and Lauren Francillion had nine kills.

Hampshire (6-4) will play Saturday at the Robert C. Byrd Tournament in Clarksburg.

Hampshire also won the jayvee match, 25-6 and 25-7. Taylor Long had 15 points for Hampshire, four aces and six assists. Courtney Moreland had three kills, Renae Paugh two kills and  Lucie Smith two kills.

Jordan Sines had five points, two aces and four assists for Southern, and Morgan Winegardner had six digs and two kills.

Mountain Ridge    3

Northern    0

FROSTBURG — Rachel Ridenour had 20 service points and three aces, and Addie Lauder had a double-double with 14 service points and 15 assists to lead Mountain Ridge to a 25-5, 25-22, 25-10 sweep of visiting Northern in high school volleyball Thursday evening.

Melissa Shank added 11 points and seven digs while Kiersten Miller had eight points and seven kills for the Miners. Lauder and Shank also had three service aces.

Erin Osselburn led Northern with eight points, three aces and three digs. Natalie Johnson had seven digs, six blocks and three points and Rhiannon Dodge six assists, seven digs and two points.

Mountain Ridge also won the jayvee match 25-22, 25-21. Averey Bridges had a match-high 14 service points for the Miners and Abby Sisler had 10 points and five aces for the Huskies.

Mountain Ridge (2-2) plays at Allegany on Monday. Northern plays in the Fort Hill Invitational on Saturday.

Spring Mills 3, Keyser 0

KEYSER, W.Va. — Springs Mills downed Keyser in three sets, winning 25-12, 25-21 and 25-23.

Hailey Foster led Keyser (2-3) with 14 service points. Faith Nelson added six points and Katie Wiltison had five kills.

The Keyser jayvees (4-1) won 25-11, 25-11. Bethany Jones led the way with five service points and four kills, while Grace Burgess and Khara Teets had four points and a kill apiece.

Hyndman 3, Salisbury 2

HYNDMAN, Pa. — Brittany  Waltman had 15 service points and Hope for Hyndman outlasted Salisbury, 25-6, 22-25, 25-9, 24-26, 15-9.

Kendra Dawson added 11 points with six aces and Julie Sanders had nine points for Hyndman.

The Hornets (4-9) play at Paw Paw this evening.

St. Maria Goretti 3, BW 0

HAGERSTOWN — Bishop Walsh dropped a three-set match at St. Maria Goretti Wednesday evening, falling by 25-17, 25-14 and 25-16 scores.

Caleigh Shade led the Spartans with 11 service points and four aces. Andrea Contaldi added five points and 10 assists and Sarah Rogers had nine digs.

BW (0-8) will host Paw Paw on Monday at 6 p.m.
