Lee leads PSC over No. Virginia

— KEYSER, W.Va. —Brandon

Lee’s hat trick helped

Potomac State construct a 5-0

lead over

Northern

Virginia

and the

Catamounts

cruised to

a 5-1 win

Monday to

remain

undefeated in a meeting of

Region XX opponents.

Lee scored twice in the

opening half, netting the first

goal at 17:25 on an assist from

Jerad Fike and the second on

an assist from Shaquille

Guiseppi. Gabe Kiddy scored

an unassisted goal 10:50 into

play, and Guiseppi scored the

final goal of the first half 21

second after assistingon

Lee’s second goal.

Chris Ranker assisted Lee

at 27:38 of the second half to

close out scoring for the Cats.

Abdel Alnimiry scored an

unassisted goal for Northern

Virginia with 24:16 left to play.

The score was wider than

what the other statistics

would imply as NOVA trailed

PSC in shots by only two (12-

10) and finished tied in corner

kicks (4-4).

The 5-0-1 Catamounts are

now 3-0-1 in the Region XX

and will play Wednesday, 4:30,

at Blue Ridge. Northern Virginia

CUMBERLAND — Chris

Peralta scored a goal and

assisted on two others to lead

Frederick Community College

over Allegany on Monday

afternoon at the Allegany

College of Maryland.

Peralta’s first goal came on

a penalty kick at the 41:30

mark of the first half giving

the Cougars a 2-0 lead. A

minute earlier, Jason Werner

took Peralta’s first assist for

the score.

Eric Yutzy, a Fort Hill graduate,

pulled the Trojans to

within one with his goal on

Abu Koroma’s assist.

Caleb Olson closed the

scoring early in the second

half on Peralta’s second

assist.

Frederick (6-3-1) led in

shots on goal 16-4.

William Teye made 17

saves for the Trojans.

Allegany (0-6) hosts Cecil

on Thursday.
