Czapski, Miller power BW to 5-0 win

CUMBERLAND — Maggie Czapski and Kait Miller each had a goal and an assist Friday afternoon as Bishop Walsh kicked off Homecoming weekend with a 5-0 win over Hancock.

Czapski got her goal and assist during the first half, scoring the first point less than a minute into play on a corner kick. Hannah Squire scored and unassisted goal just over two minutes later before Czapski assisted Rachel O’Rourke with 30:34 remaining in the first half.

Miller scored the first goal of the second half, going unassisted 80 seconds in. She assisted Marion Irvin two minutes later for the fifth and final goal.

Marie Lewis had no saves as the Spartans’ defense held Hancock to no shots on goal. The Panthers got 15 saves from Kaitlyn Rowe. Bishop Walsh had a 20-2 edge in corner kicks.

Bishop Walsh’s Homecoming Weekend continues today when the Spartans boys team hosts Allegany at 2 p.m.
