HAGERSTOWN — The Allegany College of Maryland volleyball team finished its time at the Tracey Leather Tournament at Hagerstown Community College 0-4 after dropping matches to Pitt Community College (N.C) and Genesee (N.Y.) on Sunday.
The Trojans began the day by getting swept by Pitt (25-21, 25-12 and 25-12), before losing to Genesee in four games (25-13 and 25-22 Cougars, 25-17 ACM, and 26-24 Genesee).
Shae Winner had eight digs and six kills while going 16 for 17 on her attacks against the Bulldogs. Rachel Appel had 11 digs, Morgan Ruppenkamp finished with four kills and two blocks, and Allie Hawkins and Kayla Hutson had six assists each. In the match with Genesee, Winner went 23 of 26 attacking with 13 kills and Appel added 21 more digs. Hawkins put up 13 assists and three aces, Hutson had nine assists and two aces and Paris Duncan recorded 12 digs, nine kills and two blocks.
On Saturday, ACM (6-12) lost 25-21, 25-12 and 25-17 to Montgomery before falling to Southern Maryland 26-24, 25-21 and 25-22.
In the early loss to the Knights, Winner went 20 for 21 on her attacks and had nine kills. Diehl also had nine kills, going 18 for 22 on her attacks, and Allie Hawkins put together 14 assists, six digs and two aces. Hutson added 17 digs and Appel added 13.
In the loss to the Hawks, Duncan finished with nine kills and eight digs after going 30 for 32 on her attacks. Hawkins had 15 digs, three aces, two blocks and an assist, Winner added 11 digs, six kills and one ace, and Appel had nine more digs.
The Trojans play Westmoreland today, 6 p.m., at home.
