Falcons flatten Spartans

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Victoria Moreland scored two goals in the first half of a 5-1 Frankfort rout of Bishop Walsh on Monday at Frankfort.

Moreland put the Falcons up 1-0 with an unassisted goal, 51 seconds into the game. Kait Miller responded with a goal on a free kick for the Spartans. Moreland gave Frankfort the halftime lead with an unassisted goal at the 3:12 mark.

Morgan Turley knocked in a free kick a 23:41 in the second half to make it 4-1. Kayla Sentelle followed with an unassisted score at 7:22 and Meghan Iler capped it off with a goal at 3:11.

The Falcon defense allowed just six shots on goal and Brooke Snyder stopped five of them. Abby Workmeister halted 13 shots for Bishop Walsh (0-1).

Frankfort (2-0) plays at Berkeley Springs Thursday at 4 p.m.
