ANNANDALE, Va. — Potomac State was haunted by turnover problems in the second half, causing the Catamounts to blow a 5-point lead at halftime during an 83-75 loss to Northern Virignia Tuesday evening.
George Chase and Reggie Baker had 20 points apiece for PSC, while Keyser graduate Peyton Hartman added 14 points. All three of those players fouled out, though, leaving the Cats short-handed down the stretch.
Khalil Jabbie led Northern Virginia by scoring 18 points, while Brian McDonald added 16. A total of five NOVA players scored in double figures as Simon Kilday added 15 points, Sam Taylor scored 14 and Reggie Tate finished with 12.
Potomac State led 46-41, but turnovers led to points for the Raiders and allowed them to go ahead for good.
It’s the first loss of the season for the Cats (3-1), who play on Thursday, 7 p.m., when they host Shenandoah.
