Davis breaks Frostburg record; Bush qualifies for ECAC

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Frostburg State junior Trey Davis shattered the school record in the weight throw in a second-place finish at the Susquehanna Invitational on Saturday.

Davis, who came up four inches of breaking the record at Marietta (Ohio) three weeks ago, smashed it at Susquehanna with a throw of 15.26 meters (50 feet, 3/4 inch). The previous school record was 47 feet, 7 1/2 inches.

The Frostburg men’s team had six top-five finishes and 11 top-10s in the meet.

In his first action of the indoor season, Xzavier Robertson bolted to a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.13) and was fifth in the 200 dash (23.54). His time in the 60 narrowly missed the ECAC qualifying time of 7.10.

Myles Burgess earned third in the triple jump (40 feet, 9 inches) and fourth in the 60 hurdles (8.95).

Percy Haskins was runner-up in the long jump (20 feet, 8 inches), Jared Cromwell fourth in the 60 dash (7.23) and Devin Francillon fifth in the 400 (52.90). Francillon also was eighth in the 200 (23.59).

Christian Smith finished sixth in the weight throw (47 feet, 1/4 inch) and eighth in the shot put (46 feet, 8.75 inches), while Pat Mead was 10th in the mile run (4:36.23).
