Former Terps coach Friedgen tabbed for Medal of Honor Bowl
CHARLESTON, S.C. — The coaches have been named for the Medal of Honor college all-star game in Charleston.
Former Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen and former Georgia Tech and Buffalo coach Chan Gailey have been named to coach the teams in the Jan. 11 contest.
The game at The Citadel’s Johnson-Hagood Stadium will feature senior college football players who hope to get a shot at playing professional football.
Fort Hill senior Sierra Minnick was inadvertently omitted from the final paragraph of Mike Mathews’ sports column in Monday’s edition, which should have read:
Few athletes win their final games. The Fort Hill 6 — Sarah Lowery, Haley Wolfe, Rachel Alderton, Erin Amoruso, Sierra Minnick and Troie York — did just that. And no one, not even Smithsburg, could stop them from doing it.
