Area soccer club meets Dec. 12

LAVALE — The Allegany Soccer Alliance soccer club is forming teams to play in tournaments and exhibition games during the spring and summer.

Area high school boys and girls who are interested in playing club-level soccer should attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 7 p.m., at the LaVale library.

Football stats requested

CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Times-News is asking all area football coaches or statisticians to submit their team’s final statistics to the sports department.

Those coaches or statisticians who have not yet reported their season stats can do so by emailing them to cappel@times-news.com, faxing them to 301-722-5270 or mailing them to Chris Appel at P.O. Box 1662/21501, 19 Baltimore St., Cumberland, Md. 21502.

Sunday School League to tip off season Saturday

CUMBERLAND — The Earl Nonnenmann YMCA Sunday School Basketball League will begin its 85th season on Saturday.

This year’s league will consist of 15 teams in four divisions of play, with approximately 150 boys and girls participating. Games will be played at the Baltimore Avenue YMCA gymnasium on Saturdays and Sundays.

The teams and the first week’s schedule are listed in today’s Scoreboard section.
