John A. McKenzie [LaVale]
LAVALE - John A. McKenzie, 71, of LaVale, died Friday, May 9, 2008, at the Golden Living Center, Cumberland.
Born June 6, 1936, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Murrell and Edna McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carl McKenzie and Wayne McKenzie.
Mr. McKenzie was a former employee of Tri-State Mine and Mill Company, Cumberland, and was owner/operator of Tri-Axle Truck Company, Frostburg.
Surviving are his wife, Carole (Laurie) McKenzie; two sons, Timothy McKenzie, of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Joseph McKenzie, of Cumberland; daughter, Cheryl Stansberry, of Beavercreek, Ohio; two grandsons; two granddaughters; five brothers, Paul McKenzie, of Mount Dora, Fla., Darrell McKenzie, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Murrell McKenzie and Delbert McKenzie, both of Frostburg, and Larry McKenzie, of LaVale; and four sisters, Virginia Shriver, of Frostburg, Eileen Miller and Donna Cutter, both of Grantsville, and Janet Stairs, of Meyersdale, Pa.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland (scarpellifh.com), on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating.
Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens and will be private.
