Helen M. Sporkey [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND - Helen M. Sporkey, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at the Golden Living Center, Cumberland.

Miss Helen M. Sporkey of the Identification Division was photographed with FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover following presentation of her 25-Year Service Award Key.

Helen was the daughter of the late Herbert F. and Etta (Gilboy) Sporkey.

Helen retired from the FBI Washington area in December of 1974, and was a member of St. Mary’s Church, where she was a member of the church sodality. She was also a member of the AARP; Senior Citizens Social Retirement Plan; CDOA; Court Cardinal Gibbons; was a graduate of Ursuline Academy; was a member of the Women's Civic Club; National Council Senior Citizens; Washington D.C. Women Moose Aux; National Historical Society; National Association Retired Fed. Workers; Eagles Aux Aerie 245; Associated Member Ursuline Nuns; St. Joseph's Church Escanaba, Mich.; Sons of Italy, Cumberland and the Eagles Aux F.O.F.

There will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.

Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Escanaba, Mich.
