Janet Rowley Duffus [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND— Janet Rowley Duffus, 75, of Cumberland, died with dignity and grace, her family at her side, on Friday, June 26, 2009, at Copper Ridge Nursing Home. Copper Ridge is affiliated with Johns Hopkins University and specializes in Alzheimer patient care. A special thanks goes out from the family to the many kind and loving care givers both at Copper Ridge and the Kensington assisted senior living facility.
Born Aug. 18, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Duffus was the daughter of the late Reginald Rowley and Elizabeth Mae (Dixon) Rowley. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Ellen Rowley.
Janet retired from Riggleman, Smyth and Associates after twenty years of accounting service. She was an active member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church and a life time participant in church choirs. Janet was a loving mother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Janet is survived by her son, Kenneth M. Duffus and his wife Dea, of Eagle River, Ark., her daughter, Linda M. Watson and her partner Jim Flanagan, of Fort Salonga, N.Y., her son, John R. Duffus and his wife Christina, of Rawlings; her sister, Virginia Anguish, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; as well as her beloved grandchildren, the triplets, Reginald, Ross, and Erin Duffus, and Elizabeth, Michelle, Rachel, and Scott Duffus.
A memorial service will be conducted in Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Edward Chapman officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in the name of Janet to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA), The Polycystic Kidney Foundation (PKD) or Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
