Pauline B. Shoemaker [Bedford]

Pauline Bernice Shoemaker, 93, of Bedford, Pa., passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008, at the Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.

Born April 6, 1915, in Bedford Valley, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Austin Sumner Zembower and Ethel Mae (Dicken) Zembower. Mrs. Shoemaker was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Shoemaker, who died March 8, 1972, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A former employee of the Celanese Fibers Corporation of America, Mrs. Shoemaker was also an employee of the Nave’s Store and Restaurant, and the Centreville and Old Bedford Village Gift Shop. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Shoemaker is survived by her son, Harold “Butch” M. Shoemaker and his wife Ruby, of Bedford Valley, Pa.; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Grace P. Whitfield officiating.

Interment will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
