Mona Catherine Blume [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Mona Catherine Blume, 96, of Cumberland, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at WMHS-Memorial Campus.
Born Dec. 22, 1912, in Cumberland, Mrs. Blume was the daughter of the late Warner DeBolt Cole and Mayme (Paul) Cole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Blume Sr., in 1966, and a son, David L. Blume. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mona was formerly employed at the G.C. Murphy Company and the Cumberland YMCA. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the organist for nearly 50 years. She was well known to all children as “The Lollipop Lady.”
Mona is survived by her son, Samuel L. Blume Jr. and wife Peggy, of Cumberland; as well as nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Doug White officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
