Faye L. Denison [Oakland]

OAKLAND — Faye L. Denison, 88, of Oakland, died Friday Nov. 6, 2009, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 12, 1921, in Portsmouth, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Clara Garber. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John C. Denison Jr.
Mrs. Denison was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II. She was a member and very active in the Oakland Women's Civic Club.
Surviving is her son, John Denison and wife Peg, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sisters, Cleo Johnson, of California, and Sue Richardson, of Houston, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Deep Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Lahay officiating.
The entombment of ashes will be in the Temple of Memories Mausoleum at the Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in her name to the Salem Children's Trust, Inc.
David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, is in charge of the arrangements.
