Harold “Ben” Guy Bittinger [Oakland]

OAKLAND — Harold “Ben” Guy Bittinger, 93, of Oakland, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Cherry Hill Assisted Living in Accident.
Born Sept. 10, 1915, in Oakland, he was a son of the late Truman and Sally (Beckman) Bittinger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Avis (Nutter) Bittinger; and by a sister, Edith Markley.
Mr. Bittinger was a farmer and a life-long member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Oakland.
Surviving are one son, Tom Bittinger of Oakland; two daughters, Nancy Willoughby of English, Ind., and Betty Lou Evans of Cockeysville; one brother, Cecil Bittinger of Oakland; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, on Thursday, July 2, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. C. Scott Robinson officiating.
Interment will follow in Garrett Memorial Gardens.
