James W. Jeffries [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — James William Jeffries, 37, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2009 at his residence.

Born Feb. 9, 1972 in Cumberland, he was the son of James Thomas Jeffries and the late Wilda Ruth Jeffries.

Mr. Jeffries was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1990. Upon graduating, he went to Potomac State College and received his Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration Summa Cum Laude. He then attended Frostburg State University where he graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, he then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance in 1997. James then completed his Masters Degree from Frostburg State University in 2007 majoring in Business Administration. He was employed as an accountant for Senica Corporation in Tyson’s Corner, Va. for four years where he resided in Vienna, Va. He recently accepted employment with the Office of the Inspector General Department of Agriculture as an Auditor. He was a member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church and later became a member of Park Place United Methodist Church in LaVale.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his aunt and uncle, William and Janice Cessna, Frederick; uncle, Rev. Ronald Winterberg, Gathersburg, Md.; and aunt, Nancy Winterberg, Harwood.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown (scarpellifuneralhomes.com) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lee Brotemarkle officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
