Elizabeth Burkett [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Elizabeth Burkett, 74, of Cumberland, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at her residence.

Born May 8, 1935 in Corriganville, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Lockard and Myrtle (Smith) Lockard.

She had worked at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company, Allegany County H.R.D.C. as well as local stores and restaurants.

She was Methodist by faith.

Survivors include two sons, David Roy Lockard and wife Lois, Hagerstown and Brian Eugene Burkett, Cumberland; three daughters, Cindy Cherveny and husband Tom, Minnesota, Rita Beal and husband Dale, Finzel,and Brenda Sneckenberger, and husband Jody, Hagerstown; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Lockard, Billie Jo Berger, Shannon Sisk, Kayla Spiker, Kristen Simpson, Brianna Burkett, Terri Beal, Jessica Beal, Jodi Sneckenberger and Megan Sneckenberger; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

As per her wishes, Mrs. Burkett will be cremated.
