OLDTOWN — Sarah Rachel Lewis, 84, of Oldtown, died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the Golden Living Center, Cumberland.
She was born Aug. 7, 1924 at Romney, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Les Corbin and Carrie Edna Orndoff Corbin.
She was a homemaker and attended the Bethel Assembly of God Church at Oldtown.
On Aug. 17, 1947, she married William “Bud” Lewis, who preceded her in death in 1979.
She is survived by two sons, William “Bill” and his wife Laurie Lewis, of Paw Paw, W.Va., and Larry and his wife, Debbie Lewis, of Oldtown; three daughters, Joy and her husband Harold Cutter, of Oldtown, Deb and her husband Sam Holliday, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Edna Lewis, of Springfield, W.Va.; three sisters, Hazel Shingleton, of Winchester, Va., Myrtle Haines, of Winchester, Va., and Nancy Lewis Haines, of Winchester, Va.; six grandchildren, Wade Cutter, Brad Lewis, Melinda Holliday, Danielle Bender, Michelle Holliday and Shane Holliday; three great-grandchildren, Brant Hogbin, Eston Bender, and Avery Cutter; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Christia McGee, Tylor Weller and Nick Weller.
Friends were received on Monday at the Bethel Assembly of God Church, Oldtown.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Bethel Assembly of God Church, Oldtown, with Pastors Fred Parker and James Stemple officiating.
Burial will be at the Branch Mountain Cemetery, Three Churches.
