MCHENRY — Pearl Joann Petroski, 82, of 175 Pysell Road, Apt. 4, McHenry, formerly a resident of Shamokin, Pa., died on Oct. 20, 2009 after a long illness of cancer.
Pearl lived in the family home in Shamokin most of her life and most recently was a resident of McHenry.
Born in Shamokin on March 11, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sophie (Romanoski) Gobora Sr. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth J. Petroski on Aug. 10, 2002; two sisters, Florence Witcoskie and Kathleen Krushinski; and one brother, Michael Gobora Jr.
She was married on July 15, 1950 to the late John W. Petroski, who preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1982. She and her husband owned Shamokin Parts & Equipment which was an auto parts store in Paxinos, Pa., for many years.
She was a loving and dedicated mother of five children.
Survivors include four children, John M. Petroski of Sunbury, Pa., David W. Petroski and wife Joan of Shamokin, Mary E. Rosser and husband Thomas of Accident, and Cynthia A. Schoomaker and husband, Peter of Tampa, Fla. Pearl is survived by seven grandchildren Melissa Bozza, Jennifer Petroski, David Petroski, Emily Rosser, Rosemary Rosser, Lara Winchester and Andrew Schoomaker. She is also survived by a great-grand-daughter, Kymber Bozza.
A public viewing will be held at C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Kulpmont, Pa., on Oct 31, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at the Church of the Holy Angels Church in Kulpmont.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap, Pa.
