James Raymond Skidmore [Bridgeport]

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — James Raymond Skidmore, 68, of Maple Lake, Bridgeport, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at United Hospital Center.
He was born Dec. 9, 1940, in Frostburg, Md., the only child of Elizabeth Nadine Taylor Skidmore, who survives in Bridgeport, and the late Raymond "Dinks" Skidmore.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Colleen Bailey Skidmore.
In addition to his wife and his mother, he is also survived by three children, Heath Skidmore and his wife Maria of Bridgeport, Ryan Skidmore and his wife Kris of Columbus, Ohio, and Paige Skidmore of Atlanta, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Tyler, Keely, Corey and Lindsey Skidmore.
Mr. Skidmore had retired from Dominion Hope Gas and then retired as the executive director of Mid-Atlantic Aerospace Complex. He was a graduate of West Virginia University with a Master's Degree in journalism.
He was an avid train collector and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and watch them play sports. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

At his request, Mr. Skidmore will be cremated and private services will be held for the family.
Arrangements are under the care of Burnside Funeral Home, Bridgeport.
