Fielding, Rollins wedding

For the Cumberland Times-News

CUMBERLAND — Emily Anne Rollins and Eliot Chase Fielding were united in marriage on June 23, 2007, at 2 p.m. The double-ring ceremony took place at The Church of St. Patrick, Cumberland, with Monsignor Thomas Bevan as celebrant.

The bride is the daughter of Timothy and Laura Rollins of Cumberland, and the granddaughter of Elizabeth Rollins, Frostburg, and William and Bernadette Welsh, Homer Glen, Ill. The groom is the son of Stephen and Amy Fielding of Fredericksburg, Va., and the grandson of John Elliot Sr., Fairfax, Va., and Fred and Michele Fielding, Luray, Va.

Emily was escorted to the altar by her father Tim as the harpist played “The Wedding March.” The bride wore a champagne-colored wedding dress with a cathedral-length veil and carried a bouquet of roses, lilies, berries and wax flowers. Emily carried her great-grandmother’s rosary and also a handerchief that belonged to the groom as a child.

Serving as maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Eliza Garcia, Aspen, Colo. The bridesmaids were Tibby Fielding, sister of the groom, Colleen Sullivan, Ashley Boyle, Erin Getty and Billie Nichols, friends of the bride. The flower girls were Mary Grace Wolodkin, cousin of the bride, Bridgette, Bethany and Charlotte Elliot, cousins of the groom. The ring bearer was Huckleberry Finn Garcia, nephew of the bride.

Serving as best man was the groom’s friend Darren Criswell of Frankford, Del. The groomsmen were Gus Fielding, brother of the groom, Gabe Garcia, brother-in-law of th bride, Greg Franzen, Eric Claytor and Chris Prince, friends of the groom.

Music at the church was performed by Christina DeFusco, playing the harp before and during the ceremony. Upon exiting the church, A.J. DeFusco played the bagpipes. The groom and his groomsmen wore kilts and garb according to Scottish tradition. The bride’s engagement and wedding rings and groom’s wedding band were designed by the bride and groom and J. Kreiger, goldsmith.

The bride and groom were driven to the reception in a horse-drawn carriage to the Cumberland Holiday Inn, and enjoyed an evening of dinner and dancing with their family and friends. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Oxford House. Emily was the guest at a bridal shower hosted by her sister Eliza Garcia at The Castle in Mount Savage, and also a bridal shower hosted by the groom’s aunt, Beth Elliot, at the Country Club of Fairfax, Va.

Emily and Eliot are both graduates of Frostburg State University and reside in Frostburg.
