Hook, Loibel wedding

LAVALE — Jessica Lynn Loibel and James Gerald Hook were united in marriage on Aug. 2, 2008. The double ring ceremony took place at LaVale United Methodist Church, LaVale, with the Rev. Bern-adette Ross officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John and Diane Loibel of Cumberland, and granddaughter of John and Sally Goss, Cumberland, and Gerald and Willa Loibel, Cumberland. The groom is the son of Jim and Donna Hook, also of Cumberland and the grandson of Betty Harmon, Cumberland.
Given in marriage by her parents, and escorted down the aisle by her father, the bride wore a satin gown with beaded lace halter and tulle skirt by Oleg Cassini. She wore a cathedral length veil and tiara embellished with Swarovski crystals. Her bouquet was an arrangement of red and white roses and baby’s breath, adorned with pearl accents, arranged by Nancy Snyder, aunt of the bride. The groom wore a black tuxedo by Ralph Lauren with black vest and red tie.
Serving as maid of honor was Katie Loibel, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids included Bethany Sine and Angela Smith, friends of the bride, and junior bridesmaid Kiersten O’Donnell, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids wore red, floor length strapless gowns with beaded bodice, designed by David’s Bridal. The bridesmaids also wore a crystal necklace and earring set, gifts from the bride. They carried bouquets of similar to the bride’s. Serving as flower girl was Taylor Howell, cousin of the groom. She wore a satin sleeveless dress with tulle skirt and red sash around the middle.
Serving as best man was Brandon Wilson, friend of the groom. Groomsmen included Zach Whittington, Eric Hughes, and TJ Gowans, friends of the groom. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos with red vests and ties. Ring bearer was Michael Goss, cousin of the bride, who wore a tuxedo matching that of the groom.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Brenda Moreland and vocalist Sam Harmon, uncle of the groom. Program attendants were Megan and Jillian Goss, cousins of the bride, and bubbles were handed out by Kayla Loibel, cousin of the bride.
Following the ceremony, guests attended a reception at the Cumberland Country Club for a night of dinner and dancing. The bride and groom danced their first dance to “When You Look Me In The Eyes” by the Jonas Brothers, followed by a father/daughter dance to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, and a mother/son dance to “The Perfect Fan” by the Backstreet Boys. Music for the evening was provided by Brent Goss DJ Services. Photography was provided by Dave Phillips of Enuff Ideas. The four-tier white wedding cake with red roses was handmade and decorated by Dawn Howell, cousin of the groom.
Jessica is a graduate of Fort Hill High School and Frostburg State University, with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/elementary education. She is currently employed by HRDC Head Start as a teacher.
Jimmy is a graduate of Fort Hill High School and Frostburg State University, with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies. He is currently employed by X-Press Rent-A-Car and Sales, Cumberland.
Jimmy and Jessica would like to thank all of their family and friends for helping to make their wedding day a truly memorable one.
