Paton, Moreland wedding

Cumberland Times-News

LONACONING — One year ago, on Oct. 6, 2007, Jeana M. Moreland and Hugh “Fred” Paton Jr. were united in marriage. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Gary Fazenbaker, brother-in-law of the groom, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Holiness Church in Lonaconing.

The bride is the daughter of Phillip and Sandra Moreland of Terra Alta, W.Va., and the late Doraine Moreland of Romney, W.Va. The groom is the son of Hugh and Mary Paton of Westernport.

The bride was escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father. Flowers were placed on the altar in memory of Doraine Moreland, mother of the bride; Brittany Paton, daughter of the groom; Billy Moreland, brother of the bride; and James Winkler, grandfather of the groom.

Matron of honor was Elaine Shears, sister of the bride. Honorary maid of honor was Brittany M. Paton, late daughter of the groom. An angel candle was lit in memory of Brittany, who passed away in 2001. Bridesmaids were Shannon Cutter, cousin of the groom, friend of the bride and matchmaker of the couple; Jessica Snyder, daughter of the bride; and Carrie Paton, daughter of the groom. The flower girl was Hailey Rotruck, granddaughter of the bride.

The best man was Charles Paton, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Bob Allamong, friend of the groom; Derek Paton, son of the groom; and Dylan Snyder, son of the bride. The ring bearer was Tristan Sharon, grandson of the groom. Serving as ushers were Alex and Christopher, nephews of the groom; and Danny and Devin, sons of the bride. Casey Paton, niece of the groom, distributed bubbles for the celebration.

A reception was held at Victory Post 155, American Legion, in Westernport. A special thanks to Dr. Norman Wood and Dr. Allison Evans-Wood for the chauffeured Hummer ride. The buffet-style meal was catered by Mary Fazenbaker, sister of the groom. Mary also created the lovely seven-tier wedding cake which featured a fountain and burgundy roses, as well as the two-tier groom’s cake decorated with miniature white pumpkins and fall florals. Thanks sis! The cake was served by Valerie and Casey Paton, sister-in-law and niece of the groom. The couple and their guests danced to music provided by Jimmy House. Thanks Jimmy!

The church and reception hall were beautifully decorated by Mary Fazenbaker, with the assistance of the Paton family. Thank you all so much! And the beautiful photography was provided by Life Images Studio of Keyser, W.Va. Thank you Marlee for capturing those special moments!

Guests in attendance traveled from Maryland, West Virginia, New Jersey, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Thank you all for coming and sharing our special day.

Fred and Jeana honeymooned at the Turtle Cay Resort in Virginia Beach, Va.

Fred is employed at the Mount Storm Power Station and Jeana is an employee of Doctors Urgent Care. The couple reside in Westernport with their blended family.
