Larkin, Bailey Wedding

CUMBERLAND — On Oct. 15, 2011, Amber Corinne Bailey and Tyler Patrick Larkin were united in marriage in front of family and friends. The double ring ceremony took place at Centre Street United Methodist Church, which was the church of the bride’s childhood. The Rev. Ann W. Atkins, pastor of Centre Street United Methodist Church, performed the double ring ceremony. Heather Haines, church organist, provided music for the traditional Christian ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jeffrey and Patricia Bailey of Cumberland. Amber is the granddaughter of John and Mary Horwath and Dolores Bailey, Cumberland, and the late Edgar Bailey.

The groom is the son of Robert and Patricia Larkin of Fallston. Tyler is the grandson of Ella Wanek, Baltimore, and the late Alex Wanek.

Luxury Express Limousine Service transported the bridal party and groomsmen, separately, to the church from Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. Amber wore a Watters designer gown from Betsy Robinson’s Bridal. It was an ivory lace and tulle strapless layered trumpet gown with a jeweled ivory satin ribbon belt and a sweep train. She wore a sheer ivory fingertip veil. Her jewelry selection was a diamond and pearl necklace given to her by the groom and pearl earrings from her mother. Amber carried a bouquet of assorted fall-colored roses, orchids, hydrangeas, alstromariums, mini carnations and hypericum. The bridal party carried smaller matching bouquets, and the groom and groomsmen wore yellow, orange-tipped rosebud boutonnieres.

Serving as matron of honor was Julie Ahlfeldt, college friend. The attending bridesmaids were Sara Bruszewski and Ebony Martin, high school friends; Stacey Verner, sister of the groom; and Brenna Stevens and Kate Shanley, college friends. The matron of honor and bridesmaids wore short cranberry dresses by designer, Bill Levkoff.

Serving as best man was Todd Blass, college friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Ben Verner, brother-in-law of the groom; Ryan Bailey, brother of the bride; and Paul Dorsey, Cody Gehrmann and Mike Krawczyk, friends of the groom. The groom and groomsmen wore charcoal grey suits from Joseph A. Banks.

Amber and Tyler were escorted to their wedding reception at the Greenridge Ballroom at Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort by Dale Meese, friend of the bride’s parents, in a 1941 navy Packard Limousine. The reception included a cocktail and appetizer hour before a plated meal was served. Desserts included a cupcake tree with a small bride and groom cake made by Lorenzo’s Bakery of Frostburg. A dessert table displayed Lorenzo’s Italian cookies, McFarland Candies assorted chocolates and M&Ms in the wedding colors of gray and cranberry.

Toasts were made to the bride and groom by Todd Blass, best man, and Julie Ahlfeldt, matron of honor. Amber’s father, Jeff Bailey, welcomed everyone and her uncle, Bill Webb, gave the prayer blessing.

DJs from Sounds Fun Entertainment of McHenry introduced the bride and groom and bridal party, along with parents. Amber and Tyler’s first dance as husband and wife was to the song, “By My Side” by Ben Harper. Amber danced with her father to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, and Tyler danced with his mother to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.

Amber and Tyler’s memorable day was photographed by Maria Linz Photography of Baltimore.

The groom’s parents, Bob and Pat Larkin, hosted a golf tournament at Rocky Gap prior to the wedding and the rehearsal dinner at Ristorante Ottaviani in Cumberland.

The bride was given two bridal showers prior to her wedding. Her aunt, Cathy Webb, hosted an afternoon tea shower in Cumberland which was attended by high school friends and relatives. Also, a shower was given by her bridal party at Liberatore’s Restaurant in Perry Hall for relatives and friends.

Amber and Tyler honeymooned in Maui, Hawaii, and San Diego, Calif. They reside in Towson with their dog, Billy Mays.

Tyler is currently employed as director of business development at PHH Arval in Sparks after having graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor of science degree in computer science.

Amber received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Towson University in speech-language pathology. She is employed by Anne Arundel County Public Schools as a speech pathologist and is a part-time clinical supervisor at Towson University Speech-Language-Hear-ing Center.

Amber and Tyler are grateful to their families and friends for making their wedding day unforgettable.
