Schoenadel, Umstot wedding

— CUMBERLAND — On July 6, 2013, at 3 p.m., Nicole Renee Umstot and Jacob Michael Schoenadel were united in marriage at the shrine of St. Peter and Paul, Cumberland. Deacon David Conley performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Douglas and Nadine Umstot of Cumberland. She is the granddaughter of Floyd and Helen Umstot of Pinto, and Rosannah Robinette and the late Donald Robinette of Cumberland. The groom is the son of David and Paula Schoenadel of LaVale. He is the grandson of George Schoenadel of Zephyrhills, Fla., Rita Schoenadel of Cumberland, and Ruth Mullen and the late Donald Mullen of Cumberland.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. Nicole wore a white strapless David’s Bridal A-line gown with a ruched bodice. The dress featured a sweetheart neckline and a cathedral length train. Sequins and crystals accented the dress. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses.

Serving as matron of honor was Tiffany Garver, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Katie Chase, cousin of the bride, and Lydia Schoenadel, sister of the groom. They wore strapless Malibu blue floor-length satin gowns with sweetheart necklines. Katy Loar, friend of the bride, served as the flower girl.

Serving as the best man was Dan Syverstad, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Jeff Smiley, friend of the groom, and Matt Schoenadel, brother of the groom. They wore black tuxedos with Malibu blue ties and vests. Jett Loar, friend of the bride, served as the ring bearer.

The floral arrangements were created by the bride and her mother. Flowers were placed on the altar in remembrance of the bride and groom’s maternal grandfathers, an aunt of the bride’s, and an uncle of the groom’s. The guest book was attended by Barb Smith, friend of the bride. Ushers included An-drew Thacker, Taylor Thacker, cousins of the groom, and Dylan Umstot, Jared Umstot, and Sean Umstot, cousins of the bride. Scripture readers were George Schoenadel, grandfather of the groom, and David Smith, friend of the bride. Photography was provided by Moriah K. Photography.

The reception was held at the Cumberland Country Club, where a cocktail hour and plated dinner was served. The couple danced their first dance to “Inside Your Heaven” by Carrie Underwood. Music was provided by Mark Stevens Disc Jockey Services. The five-tier cake was made by Sarah Loar, friend of the bride.

A bridal shower was given by the bride’s mother at the Knights of Columbus, LaVale. A rehearsal dinner was hosted at Oscar’s by George Schoenadel, grandfather of the groom.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., and Myrtle Beach, S.C. They reside in Cumberland.

Nicole is a 2007 graduate of Allegany High School and a 2011 graduate of Frostburg State University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/elementary education. She completed her master’s degree in special education. Nicole is currently a substitute teacher.

Jake is a 2003 graduate of Allegany High School and a 2009 graduate of Frostburg State University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/elementary education. He is pursuing his master’s degree and is employed by the Mineral County Board of Education as a science teacher.

Nicole and Jake would like to thank their family and friends for sharing in this special day. The couple would like to thank all those individuals involved with the planning of their wedding.
