Michaels, Nicol wedding

FROSTBURG — On June 16, 2012, Rachel Marie Nicol and Tyler Martin Michaels were united in marriage in front of family and friends. The double ring ceremony took place at Eckhart United Methodist Church, with Pastor George Harpold officiating and giving the message.

The bride is the daughter of Norman and Barbara Nicol, Frostburg. Rachel is the granddaughter of Nettie Cameron, Frostburg, and the late Marvin Cameron and the late Gilbert and Eloise Nicol.

The groom is the son of Ronald and Pamela Michaels, Petersburg, W.Va., and Leslie Martin, Mount Savage. Tyler is the grandson of Viola Michaels and the late James "Tony" Michaels and the late Edna Martin.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. Rachel wore a strapless ivory J&B Bridal ball gown, made of silky organza for a free flowing, elegant look. Crystals accented the bodice. The bride carried a bouquet of orange, pink and yellow daisies and orange roses. The bouquet base was wrapped in white ribbon.

Serving as maid of honor were Miranda Nicol, sister of bride, and Holly Kesner (Bell), friend of bride. Bridesmaids were Amy Sites, cousin of bride; and Cara Brennan (Wilt) and Jacqueline Broadwater, friends of bride. They wore fuchsia and orange strapless, floor-length gowns and carried bouquets consisting of fuchsia, orange and yellow daisies. Madison Campbell, friend of bride, served as flower girl and wore a white, floor-length gown accented with a lace wrap-around bow. Madison carried a white, flowered basket and lined the aisle with fuchsia rose petals.

The groom wore a black tuxedo with a silver vest and matching tie. Jason Kirby, friend of groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Cameron Michaels, brother of groom; Scott Whiteman, friend of groom; Travis Hitchins, friend of bride and groom; and Brian Beal, friend of groom. Ring bearers were Xavier and Noah Michaels, nephews of the groom. The best man wore a fuchsia vest with matching tie and the groomsmen wore orange vests and ties. The ring bearers wore black tuxedos with silver vest and tie. The ring bearers carried a white heart-shaped pillow.

All floral arrangements were designed and created by Cathy Wilt, family friend. Photography was provided by Moriah K. Videography of the ceremony and reception was provided by Timothy Hitchins, family friend.

The bride and groom were chauffeured by Mark Wilt, family friend, in a 1964 Pontiac GTO.

A reception was held following the ceremony at the Midland Fire Hall. Music and master of ceremony duties were provided by C-2-C Music. A delicious assortment of cupcakes surrounded an 8-inch cake decorated in fuchsia and orange flowers.

A bridal shower was given in April at the Frostburg Community Center in honor of the bride by her mother and the bridesmaids. A rehearsal dinner was held at Sand Springs the evening before the ceremony and was hosted by the groom’s parents.

The newlyweds honeymooned on a cruise to Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Marten.

The couple currently reside at their home in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Tyler and Rachel would like to thank their families for all of their love and support throughout the years. Especially their parents, we would not be who we are without each and every one of you. A special thank you to Cathy Wilt for all her hard work with the flowers and decorations. A big thank you also to all the family and friends who put all their time into helping with decorating the fire hall.

We love you all.
