Corey Moorehead weds Simeon Bright

— PIEDMONT, W.Va. — On May 25, 2013, at 3 p.m., Corey Lynn Moorehead and Simeon Miller Bright V were united in marriage at Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont. The Rev. Bart Thompson performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Timothy and Rebecca Moorehead of Keyser. She is the granddaughter of Sarah Jane Albright of Keyser and Mildred Moorehead of Keyser and the late Vaughn Moorehead.

The groom is the son of SM and Robin Bright of Burlington. He is the grandson of Charles Blackburn and the late Martha Blackburn of Keyser, and the late Simeon and Lorna Bright of Keyser.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. Corey wore an ivory Vera Wang gown with satin faced organza and lace illusion piece. The dress featured embroidered lace with a cathedral train. The bride carried a bouquet of ivory hydrangeas.

Serving as maid of honor was Molly Harden, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Julie Arnold, friend of the bride; Lasidi Helmick, friend of the bride; Amanda Bright, sister of the groom; Sarrah Park, friend of the bride, and Kourtni Roby, friend of the bride. They wore peacock and plum colored one-shoulder chiffon dresses with petal detail and carried bouquets of hydrangeas with colorful peacock feathers. Isabel and Paisley Hanlin, nieces of the bride, served as flower girls.

Serving as the best man was Charles Bright, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were AJ Riggleman, David Redman, Kellon Smith, Zach Riggleman and Aaron Amtower, all friends of the groom. They wore black tuxedos with clover ties and vests with a peacock feather accent boutonniere. Bryson Moorehead, nephew of the bride, served as the ring bearer.

The floral arrangements were created by Barbara Wilson. Flowers were placed on the altar in remembrance of loved ones and left as a dedication to the church. The guest book was attended by Landon and Ashton Moorehead, nephews of the bride. Andy Moorehead, brother of the bride, lead a Scripture reading. Special music was performed by Stacey Hanlin, sister of the bride. Photography was provided by Sierra Iser of Memories Made. Videography was provided by Greg Larry. Ceremony music was performed by Vicki Burt.

The reception was held at the Keyser Fire Station 2. Catering was provided by Flying W Farms of Burlington. The couple danced their first dance to “Marry You” by Train. Music was provided by JR Murray with Digital Illusions DJ services. The cake and desserts were made by Mariah and Sam Sarver of M&S Desserts.

A bridal shower was given for the bride by her family and friends at the reception hall at Trinity Church. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s family there as well.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Las Vegas, Nev. They currently reside in Petersburg.

Corey is a 2008 graduate of Keyser High School and a 2011 graduate of Potomac State College of West Virginia University with degrees in business technology and office systems technology. Corey is currently a medical secretary for a local optometrist.

Simeon is a 2005 graduate of Keyser High School and a 2009 graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in business management. He is currently employed with his family business Tri-County Honda, in Petersburg.
