Altobello-Ravenscroft wedding vows recited

LAVALE — Emily Katherine Ravenscroft and Matthew Jerome Altobello celebrated their union in Christian marriage on June 1, 2013.  The double ring ceremony took place at LaVale United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William Linhart officiating.

Emily is the daughter of Leon and Kathy Ravenscroft, Keyser, W.Va. She is the granddaughter of the late Frederick and Leona Tettenburn and Donald and Hazel Ravenscroft.

Matthew is the son of Jerry and Beverly Altobello, Washington, Pa.  He is the grandson of Jackie Altobello, Keyser, and the late Joseph Altobello and Jim and Kay Lindsay.

Emily was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents.  Her gown was Allure, and was made of rich satin in diamond white and delicately ruched throughout the bodice.  It had a sweetheart neckline encrusted with Swarovski crystals and a lace-up back.  Accenting the waist was a white satin ribbon of hand-sewn Swarovski crystals and beads. The fitted ruched waistline opened to a flare of a skirt with a chapel train.  She wore an elbow-length veil.  Emily carried a hand-tied bouquet of white hydrangea and white roses.

Serving as matrons of honor were Juli Ravenscroft, and Valerie Ravenscroft, both sisters-in-law of the bride.  Bridesmaids were Kayla Smith, Chelsea Ross and Emily Andes, all friends of the bride; Julie Arnold and Natalie Orange, cousins of the bride; and Lindsay Willey, sister of the groom. The bridesmaids wore floor-length chiffon Mori Lee gowns in cantaloupe.  The bridesmaids carried bouquets of white hydrangea hand-tied with satin ribbon.

Cadence Ravenscroft, niece of the bride, was flower girl.  She was escorted by Luca Altobello, cousin of the groom, and Case Ravenscroft, nephew of the bride.

Serving as best men were James Altobello, brother of the groom, and Jimmy Skinner, friend of the groom.  Groomsmen were Kellon Smith, Adam Myers, Ryan Spotts, Brian Wilson, Daniel LeMasters and Luke Salmons, all friends of the groom. Ushers were Matt and Troy Ravenscroft, brothers of the bride, and Zach Riggleman, friend of the groom.

Guests were registered by Camryn Barrick and Makenna Staggers, both cousins of the bride.

Music for the ceremony was provided by organist, David Lemon, and vocalist, Henry “E.N.” Newby, who sang “There’s No Place That Far.” Jerry Altobello, the groom’s father, read a poem chosen by the couple entitled “These Hands.”

A reception was held in the Lane Center’s ARMAH Room on the campus of Frostburg State University. Guests enjoyed a plated meal and music was provided by DJ Scott Furey.  The couple’s first dance was to “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele.  The bride and her father danced to “My Girl,” and the groom and his mother danced to “My Wish.”  Photography was by Jessica Fike.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at Ristorante Ottaviani in Cumberland.

Emily and Matthew honeymooned at Riviera Maya.
