Lauren Knippenberg weds Stephan Blatney

CUMBERLAND — Lauren Karissa Knippenberg and Stephan Frank Blatney were united in marriage at six o’clock in the evening on June 15, 2013, at the Shrine of SS. Peter and Paul in Cumberland. Father Stephen Fernandez presided over the double ring ceremony.

Steve is the son of Frank and Diane Blatney of Greensburg, Pa. He is the grandson of Ann Blatney and the late Frank Blatney.

The bride was given away by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore a soft white fit and flare gown of lace over charmeuse, with beaded floral detailing and a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of white, blue and green hydrangea accented with blue delphinium, white garden roses and hypericum berries wrapped in soft white silk ribbon.

Kristen Knippenberg, sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelsey Knippenberg and Bella Biancone, sisters of the bride. The bridesmaids wore sapphire blue floor-length chiffon gowns with sweetheart necklines featuring asymmetrical ruching and a one-shoulder strap accented with a ruffle detail. They carried bouquets of white and green hydrangeas accented with white garden roses and hypericum berries wrapped in soft white ribbon. The flowergirls were Marina Earle, Lily Mosser and Ava Mosser, cousins of the bride. They carried white and blue hydrangea kissing balls. All of the bouquets were arranged by Martin’s Floral.

The junior groomsmen were Ben Iannantuono and Colin Sheehe, cousins of the bride. The boys carried a “Here Comes the Bride” sign down the aisle. The ring bearer was Jack Iannantuono, cousin of the bride. The groom and groomsmen wore traditional black Vera Wang tuxedos with a cummerbund and suspenders. They wore white rose boutonnieres accented with hypericum berries, arranged by Martin’s Floral.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Mark Steiner on the organ and Josh Ruppencamp performing the vocals.  Special moments, as well as candid shots, were captured by Allison Sinisi of Vivid Photography, Greensburg. Greg Honeycutt was the videographer for the day.

A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the Cumberland Country Club. Barbara Fisher and Dora Kelly, family friends, beautifully decorated the club in sapphire blue with green and white accents. Centerpieces were made of white and blue hydrangeas accented with ferns and white spider mums. The couple danced their first dance to Etta James’s “At Last.” The father-daughter dance was to “Daughter’s Lullaby,” a song written by the bride’s father especially for the occasion. The groom danced with his mother to “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King. DJ Mark Stevens of Cumberland provided the music for the evening, and the couple and their guests danced long into the night. A photo booth was set up for guests to strike a pose and take home a keepsake from the evening.

After rehearsal, the evening before, the bride’s and groom's parents hosted an outdoor crab feast and barbecue at The Cumberland Country Club.

Two bridal showers were given in the bride’s honor. One of the beautiful showers had a kitchen theme and was hosted by Rosemary and James Sheehe, the bride’s grandparents, and the bridesmaid, The event took place at the Queen City Creamery, Cumberland. The second shower was hosted by Kim Iannantuono, Michelle Mosser, aunts of the bride, and Janice Gilmore, family friend.
