Twigg, Pappas wedding

HAGERSTOWN — Dr. Nicole Christine Pappas and Brock Alan Twigg were united in marriage on June 9, 2012, at Fountain Head Country Club, Hagerstown.  The double ring outdoor ceremony was officiated by Pastors Stephanie and Stanley Steele of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Nicole is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory and Debbie Pappas of LaVale.  She is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Robert and Marie Shrout of Cumberland and Adeline Pappas of East Meadow, N.Y.

Brock is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike and Robin Twigg of Hagerstown.  He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Don and Polly Twigg of Orlando, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Ron and Rose Sweeney of Hagerstown.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father, Nicole wore a strapless ivory gown of imported lace.  The gown featured a sweetheart neckline and chapel-length train. The bride’s ensemble included a fingertip-length veil and pearl and crystal earrings with matching bracelet.  Her hair and makeup were styled by Sagittarius Salon. Nicole carried a bouquet of blush peonies and ivory roses wrapped with a specially embroidered handkerchief, a gift of her aunt and godmother, Linda Uhl. The bride and her attendants walked down the aisle to a string arrangement of  the Beatles’ favorite “Here Comes the Sun.”

Stefanie Twigg, sister of the bridegroom, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were friends Dr. Emily Curran, Dr. Brandy Dozier, Emily Zumbrun and Melanie Uhl, cousin of the bride.  The bridesmaids wore long, navy halter-styled gowns and carried bouquets of ivory peonies and roses.  Flower girl was Miss Kylie Uhl, goddaughter of the bride, who was attired in an ivory, chiffon and sequined gown and carried ivory rose petals.

The groom wore a black tuxedo with an ivory vest and tie and ivory rose boutonniere.  Serving as best man was   Joseph Barron, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were friends Paul Crampton III,  Todd Davey,  Michael Lelchitski and  Michael Moyseenko.  The groomsmen were attired in black tuxedos with grey vests and black ties and wore ivory rose boutonnieres.

A reception immediately followed the ceremony at Fountain Head Country Club.  An outdoor cocktail hour by the pool preceded a formal plated dinner.  The three-tier wedding cake was topped with roses and peonies and a chocolate groom’s cake featured a motorcycle decoration.  Photography was provided by Erick Gibson.  All flowers were designed and arranged by Rooster Vane Floral Creations.  Guests danced to the sounds of The V.I.P.’s.

The couple danced their first dance to the Beatles’ “Maybe I’m Amazed.” The bride honored her father with a dance to “In  My Life” by the Beatles. The groom and his mother danced to Rod Stewart’s “Forever Young.”

The couple departed the reception in a restored classic 1966 Mustang owned by Nicole’s aunt and uncle, Greg and Linda Uhl. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Nick’s Airport Inn in Hagerstown.  The couple spent a week-long honeymoon in Anguilla.

Guests were from Florida, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Bridal showers were hosted in Hagerstown by Mr. and Mrs. Terry and Chris Randall and in Cumberland by Valeria Arch and Linda Uhl. A celebration was also hosted by Nicole’s colleagues in Blacksburg, Va.

Nicole is a graduate of Allegany High School, University of Maryland, College Park and the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Science.  She has joined Waynesboro Veterinary Clinic as a veterinarian.

Brock is a graduate of St. James Academy in Hagerstown and Elon University, Elon, N.C.  He is employed as a sales manager at Twigg Cycles Incorporated in Hagerstown.

The couple resides in north Hagerstown.

Nicole and Brock would like to thank their family and friends for sharing in this special day.
