Holli Panuska becomes bride of Michael Ward

— NAGS HEAD, N.C. — On Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, Holli Lynn Panuska and Michael Charles Ward were united in marriage on the sandy beaches of Nags Head. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Chris Creighton.  

The bride is the daughter of Patrick and Joan Panuska of Cresaptown, Md. Holli is the granddaughter of the late Mary Lou and Louis Greil of Baltimore, Md., and the late John and Ruth Lyons of Olney, Md.

The groom is the son of Mary Ann Jordan of Ocean City, Md., and John and Sandra Ward of Greenbackville, Va. Mike is the grandson of the late James and Jeanette Ward of Wilmington, Del., and the late Charles and Loretta Jordan of Longwood, Fla.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a stunning taffeta strapless gown with an embellished sweetheart neckline and lace-up back and chapel train with bubble hem. The gown was classically accented by jewels and she carried a bouquet of orange and white roses with purple stock.

The groom wore a beige casual suit with a white dress shirt and a deep orange tie.

Serving as maid of honor was Mallory Panuska, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Emily Fox and Carissa Amann, friends of the bride. The bridesmaids wore short dark purple satin, sweetheart neckline dresses and carried orange rose bouquets.

Serving as best man was John Ward, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Clint Panuska, brother of the bride; and Craig Casey, friend of the groom. The groomsmen wore white dress shirts, beige dress pants, and deep orange colored ties.

Floral creations were by The Embellishers and reception centerpieces were by 11th Hour Events. The three-tier cake was provided by 11th Hour Events and the event was catered by Café Lachine. Photography was by Deborah Sawyer Photography.

Spectacular views of the sound side wildlife were enjoyed as the sunset at the Outer Banks reception site, Mallard’s Marsh. The bride and groom’s first dance was to “Free” by Zac Brown Band.  Holli danced with her father to “My Little Girl“ by Tim McGraw and Mike danced with his mother to “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison. Guest favors included a full candy bar with all orange, purple and white themed candies.

A rehearsal dinner was held overlooking the Roanoke Sound at the Tale of the Whale Restaurant in Nags Head. The dinner took place the evening before the ceremony and was hosted by the groom’s family. A bridal shower was held in September at the Swann Cove Clubhouse in Fenwick Island, Del., hosted by the bride’s sister and mother.

Holli is a 2003 graduate of Allegany High School, 2007 graduate of Salisbury University, with a bachelor of science degree in psychology, and a 2009 graduate of Towson University, with a masters of science degree in gerontology. She is currently employed as a case manager at MAC Incorporated in Salisbury, Md.

Mike is a graduate of Alexis I. Dupont High School in Wilmington, Del., and is employed as a tax preparer at OC Tax Service and as a bartender in Ocean City.

Holli and Mike honeymooned at Dreams Puerto Adventuras Resort and Spa, Riviera Maya, Mexico, and currently live in their new home in Ocean Pines, Md.
