— CUMBERLAND — One year ago today, on Sept. 7, 2012, Lauren Elise Hayes and Jared Michael Yoder were united in marriage alongside close family and friends. The ceremony and reception took place at The Hayloft in Rockwood, Pa. The Rev. Larry D. Goyda officiated the wedding ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of John and Krista Durst of LaVale. She is the granddaughter of Harry Hobell and the late Bessie Hobell, and Dr. Robert and Toby Feddis, all of LaVale. The bride’s father, John Durst, escorted her to the altar. The bride wore a dress handcrafted in New York City, designed by sister of the bride and maid of honor, Kelsie Hayes. The gown was simple and elegant in style with attention to detail. Silk Chantilly lace and hand-pleated chiffon were hand stitched to the bodice to create the perfect fit. The gown had a modest train with chiffon straps continuing to the floor of the gown. A grosgrain belt was worn at the waist to complete the bride’s look. Everything from the lace to the color of the chiffon were selected by the bride and her sister. The bride complemented the gown with a single layer cathedral-length veil.

Close friends accompanied the bride and groom at the altar. Serving as maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Kelsie Hayes. Bridemaids were Jewel Wilson, Courtney Love, Catherine Simpson and Nina Dalangin. The bridesmaids wore black floor-length chiffon gowns in varying styles. Serving as best man was the groom’s brother, Chad Yoder. Groomsmen were Kyle Robinson, Johnny Cooper, Randy O’Brien and Austin Scell.

Mya Elizabeth Harris served as honorary flower girl, in her loving memory. The reception was held in The Hayloft barn. Robin and Dave Yoder, at their home in LaVale, hosted the rehearsal dinner. The bridal shower was given by Kelsie Hayes, and was hosted at the home of Toby Feddis.

The bride is a graduate of Allegany High School. She holds a bachelor of arts degree from University of Maryland and a master of arts degree in art therapy from The George Washington University.
